Digital Recall

Set in a near distant future, ‘Digital Recall’ narrates an audiovisual journey through an abandoned world. Presented in a format between music video and faux documentary, paired with audio on the border of musical compositions and sound design, the piece examines the fictive ruins of an information society overrun by visual content, host-less radio stations and endless video streams. By scoring webcamera streams of remote places, commercial footage, memes, stock photos and generated imagery, the piece investigates themes of loss and yearning in a digital world, through eclectic collages of musical genres, found material and visual media.

Johan Nilsson is a composer and producer from Stockholm.
