’shiny new object’

In this project I have asked myself; 

What stops me from working deeper and longer with my material? 

What is this thing that I do, where I’m always onto the next thing? 

I stumbled across a term called ’shiny new object’ 

One that has inspired me to circle back around existing material

Instead of letting go quickly in exchange for something even bigger, better, more perfect? 

Or to avoid conflict 

However ’shiny new object’ has also come to inspire me as a lense to 

Our modern fleeting life

Me as an aging woman trying to get to the ’somewhere’ before I ’exspire’? 

Looking for myself 

Through outside eyes 

I have been as scattered in my creativity as ever 

I have also learned to take time 

And stay challenged a little longer than usual
