Lo Ersare
Swedish born Lo Ersare is better known for the pseudonym Lucky Lo, and the critically acclaimed album ’Supercarry’ from 2022. This evening she invites us all to an intimate listening session in The Basement where she will share excerpts from her next album with the same project.
Lucky Lo moves within the broad field of indie-pop and has often been compared to artists such as Aldous Harding, Weyes Blood or Christine and the Queens. Lo’s compositional style draws inspirations from the wellknown structures of classic songwriting, that we know from legends such as Carole King or Bill Withers, but adds her own personal twist through elements of surprise through clever modulations, odd meters or tempo changes. For the deep listener, Lucky Lo’s music is lush, colorful and surprising. For the dancer, it is groovy, funky and joyful. And for those seeking connection, it is sensitive, honest and genuine.
I use music as a tool to create connections. I sing melodies to encourage community. I write lyrics with the aim to generate connection, community and most of all love. Because, I believe in the transformative power of love. Radical love. Love that transcends borders and binds us all together. Every time I write a song, I ask myself ‘how can this music make people happy?’
Oscar Friisgaard
Partially inspired by megaphonics and contemporary computermusic, Oscar Friisgaard will present new computer-based live compositions. Commuting between vast soundscapes and fragmented audio recordings, Oscar Friisgaard creates an intense and engaging listening experience, that explores the emotional potency in tearing and twisting sonic material.
