As part of his ongoing artistic research project ‘Sound Art as Perceptive Performance’ assistant professor at RMC Anders Mathiasen has invited the Japanese artist Rie Nakajima to Copenhagen for a short residency in collaboration with Polychrome and Tørreloft, Aga Works.

On Wednesday 21 September at 16:00 she will give a small performance and join a conversation with Anders Mathiasen about her practice and subjects such as performative listening and site specific sound performances.

Efter the event everyone is invited to go to Polychrome where there is food and drinks at 18:00, and at 19:30 there will be a performance by Mathiasen, followed by a solo performance by Nakajima. This event is also free.

About
Rie Nakajima is a a sculptor living in London. She is working with installations and performances that produce sound and her works are most often composed in direct response to unique architectural spaces using a combination of kinetic devices and found objects. Fusing sculpture and sound, her artistic practice is open to chance and the influence of others, raising important questions about the definition of art. She has exhibited and performed worldwide.

Her visit to Copenhagen is initiated by Anders Mathiasen, but organized by RMC in collaboration with Polychrome and Tørreloft, AGA Works, where she will also perform.
