Afgang 2025: Viktoria Søndergaard

This concert will present newly composed music by Viktoria Søndergaard for the band: Music of Secrets.

"So far, I have only been a bandleader in instrumental projects, which I like a lot, but the last year I have felt a strong need for integrating words in my work. For me, one of the most beautiful things in art is, that we have the opportunity to say something about society and the word that surround us. SO, this is an attempt to incorporate text in my (until now) textless universe."

The compositions draw inspiration from jazz, cabaret, chamber music, avant-garde, rap, sukuma tradition and Scandinavia. The compositions are an attempt to create a genre-free approach to music, through an acoustically influenced universe, although with a few non-acoustic elements such as autotune and subtle synthesizer.

This concert is about our collective expression and responsibility.
