What does it sound like when a music producer in pop music detaches themselves from the role of a 
craftsman — someone who typically brings other artists' visions to life — and instead uses the tools 
and expressions acquired through collaborations to create music that reflects a more personal 
aesthetic and sound?

In this project, Tendo Herbst explores his identity as a music producer and composer in a freer 
format, where pop songs coexist in a more extended way alongside ambient and instrumental 
compositions. Guitar compositions and arranging for woodwinds have been major parts of the 
creative process, while a consistent thread throughout the work is the effort to incorporate catchy 
melodies.

'Fantasia 3000' refers both to the musical form fantasia — known for its freedom and deviation from 
traditional structures — and to Disney’s 'Fantasia' franchise, which embodies a blend of grand 
musical artistry and something highly commercial. Throughout the project, this playful idea of 
fantasia has remained a guiding principle — encouraging playfulness and the freedom to let different 
musical worlds meet.

This presentation will be a listening session featuring the songs that have emerged from the project.
