Softwired

Softwired is a project where strings in different worlds meet each other and explore timbres. Nyckelharpe, modified cello, modular electro-acoustic cello, cello and granular synthesis cello entangled in a space where it’s sometimes hard to separate them from each other. The project is about longing for reality, but being immersed into technology so much that everything blends to a confusing mass, where human emotions unfold in a cacophony of war and cute cats.

Behind the music is composer and sound designer Nina Liv Bendstrup, who’s love for textures and synthesis shines through the music. She is for the first time moving into electro acoustic territory, to seek out a more tactile way to work as a composer whose main tool is the computer. The music is explorative and cinematic, hopeful and melancholic at the same time.
