'You are freed' by Vamilla

The 24-year-old Danish songwriter Mille Justinussen thought she was writing a fictional story through music, as she described a young girls journey from the American dream, to the materialistic capital to strange sexual relationships, and to going “back to nature”.

However, over time the album turned out to be prophetic, and almost all of the songs came true AFTER being written. Thus, there is a strange relationship between dream and reality; between past and future; between the conscious and the subconscious, in Vamillas music.

She likens herself to Alice in Wonderland: mostly driven by curiosity, and perceiving the world around her to be mad. Listening to her music is indeed like falling down the rabbit hole, and there you will find her version of wonderland.

Through detailed visuals, costumes and actors, Vamilla merges theatre and music in order to make people feel like they’re on acid, AND to ask the question: what does it mean to be freed?
