Afgang 2025: Lena Douglas

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Lena Douglas has spent the last 4 years moving - from Melbourne to Stockholm to Copenhagen, and soon to be London. The experience of living far from home and adapting to new environments has brought about much personal self-reflection: what parts of me are really me?

With melodic songs as containers, this recently composed music attempts to explore the multiplicity of ways in which one can be oneself. How can you honour where you come from and allow yourself to be influenced by where you are now?

For Lena, this means owning her Aussie-ness (accent incoming) and jazz school piano-playing past, while making space for more recent influences: autotune-y pop, sampled loops and some classic CPH midi guitar.
