Afgang 2025: Jonatan Magnussen

Chopper is a dark, danceable, and playful avant-pop project
by Jonatan K. Magnussen, feeding on everything from eurodance to glam rock,
harsh industrial to post-disco (though Chopper himself prefers the term “Shock Pop”).
Chopper has a vivid sense of the absurd and the bizarre — the vulnerable and the flamboyant.
Gaining attention for his intense live shows, enigmatic music videos, and extravagantly expressive attitude, Chopper thrives on the fine line between tragedy and comedy.

Although reminiscent of old-school horror flicks and synthetic bubblegum pastiche, don’t be fooled — beneath it all lies an undeniable, gut-wrenching personal force.
With great charm, diversity, and somewhat diabolical undertones,
Chopper demands a place among the unholy (and unwritten) canon
of weird, haunting, homeless, lost pop figures of the past and present.
Long live the wicked!

On June 19th, Chopper will perform a cinematic and horrormantic show telling the story of the rise and fall of Chopper — set somewhere between reality and fiction.
Joining him on stage are The Gang of Chopz:
Amalie Maj, Josephine Alicia Kirchert Tække, Lasse Christiansen, David Schlüter, Jason Lee Cameron, and Mikkel Skibye.
