Zeebra Finch
While being involved in numerous projects, mainly as the guitarist and singer of art rock band Infant Finches, and garage pop duo MIAW, Frederik Fog emerges with Zeebra Finch, a crosssplit animal releasing a warped version of modern indie music, blending it’s love for 2000’s experimental candy-flip pop with 90’s trip hop and shoegaze tied with classical instruments, software synthesizers and TV-series recordings.
The inspiration for the project came after a long period of sickness, resulting in a need of an outlet questioning reality. The grounding part of the sound comes from the to-be-released album 'MIXXTAPE', made during a longer stay in NYC interpreting the various impressions of Brooklyn through gear collected and borrowed gear. The music seeks light through slowed breakbeats, distorted synthesizers and soft sung watery melodies resonating like a mix of My Bloody Valentine, POiSON GiRL FRieND and Cities Aviv.
During Frederik Fog’s studies at RMC, he has been deep diving the realm of gritty sounds through alternative sampling methods using Analog and digital samplers, iPhone recordings, early digital-era interfaces, guitars and computer processing embracing the brokened, the nearness, fragility, and spontaneity.
For this concert Zeebra Finch plays with the acoustic vs. the pre-recorded presenting a constellation of cello, keyboard and guitar alongside visuals.
