Afgang 2025: Astrid Melén

I am a composer and producer based in Copenhagen and Malmö, working under the project name MELÉN. This semester, I have been working with a method of sampling my old voice memos as a way to break out of my usual harmonic patterns and rethink how I build and structure my compositions. 

This concert will be a reflection of that process – with quick shifts between heavy rhythmic sections and suddenly mellow parts, solo interludes and layered arrangements - searching for a place somewhere between the playfulness of jazz, the tunefulness of pop, and the rawness of indie.
