RMC Mixtape: Ingri Høyland sketches and associations
RMC Mixtape #3: Ingri Høyland sketches and associations
Ingri Høyland is a norwegian composer and producer. She has the last couple of years been working with translating emotions and bodily experiences, sculpturing dramaturgies and stories into sound.
This June she will be presenting the project ‘Jump the loop, crawl down, around and back up again’ at her graduation concert at RMC.
“The mix is a collage of songs, scores, inspirations, recordings, sketches and associations classmates and others have had during the process of creating the music for ‘Jump the loop, crawl down, around and back up again’,” she says.
Being fascinated and driven by the importance of storytelling, for her graduation project Ingri Høyland has dwelled into her upbringing with norwegian lores and explored their connection to the discourse of authenticity. Lores and tales are stories that are common and shared, they are layered and in dialogue. They are often string-figured, bundled together as a circle, played with, in and about ones hands and bodies and often created between several people. So is authenticity.
