Community singing in the shadow of war

How does it feel to live in the shadow of war? And how can this feeling be conveyed to those who live far from conflict and crises? These are the questions addressed by the project ‘Community singing in the shadow of war’.

During the spring, songwriter Anders Hjernø organized a series of online writing workshops for a group of young Ukrainians. Together, the group has written a community song about life as a young person in a country at war.

At the concert at RMC, the community song and other works created in the writing group will be presented.

The project is a collaboration between the Danish Cultural Institute and the organization Skrivefællesskabet, which uses music and poetry to strengthen communities and create cohesion across borders.
