Afgang 2024: Alma Justesen

Alma Justesen is a composer, songwriter, and producer who embraces a new simplicity in modern pop music.

She investigates what happens when layers are removed, based on the idea that if you can't feel the music, there are too many elements.

She has explored stripping down her productions to their essence, examining fragmentation in the soundscape and the role of the lead vocal. 

With a fondness for romantic soundscapes, she blends fragmented samples with organic piano, synths, choir-based vocals, and occasionally pop melodies. The vocals often consist of multiple voices singing heterophonically, on equal terms with the instrumentation.

The concert will be a presentation of new songs and Alma will be joined on stage by Alba Akvama, Alvilda Reiter, Amanda Drew and Benedicte Pierleoni.
