RMC is a state institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture, established under the Act on Higher Education under the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Executive Order on Music Conservatories and the Opera Academy.

Management framework

The Ministry of Culture has established a management framework that defines the management of RMC, including fixed key figures that the conservatory must report on. Within this framework, the overall management of RMC is handled by a board of directors, which sets the strategic objectives that the conservatory works towards.
