The application for all Bachelor and Advanced Postgraduate Diploma programmes opens 15 October 2024.
Deadline is 2 December 2024 at 12:00 CET.
The application for all Masters programmes opens 2 January 2025.
Deadline is 4 February 2025 at 12:00 CET.
It is not possible to create, edit or complete an application after the deadline.
For the Bachelor programmes Music Performance, Composition and Music Production there are no requirements for a secondary degree or an equivalent degree.
You are solely assessed on your entrance examination.
Applicants for the Bachelor Music Management programme must have concluded an upper secondary school leaving examination (stx), a higher preparatory examination (hf), a higher commercial examination programme (hhx), a higher business examination programme (eux) or a higher technical examination programme (htx), or be able to document an equivalent, concluded study programme abroad. No exemptions will be made from these requirements.
Applicants for the Masters programmes in Music Creation, Music Performance and Music Performance - Nordic Master: The Composing Musician (NoCoM) must have passed a relevant Bachelor programme from either RMC, another Danish academy of music or a foreign academy of music.
Applicants for the Master programme Music Education must have passed a relevant Bachelor programme from either RMC, another Danish academy of music, a foreign academy of music or a relevant Bachelor´s degree in pedagogics or musicology from a Danish or foreign university or university college.
Applicants who have already completed a Masters programme or advanced postgraduate diploma (APD) at RMC can only be admitted to a new Masters programme or APD if there are available study places. The same applies to applicants who have previously been enrolled twice in a Masters programme or APD without having obtained a final exam.
The Advanced Postgraduate programme is aimed at professional musicians who have completed a relevant Masters programme at at conservatory, or who possess equivalent qualifications of the same standard, such as an artistic career at a high professional level. The programme is not a PhD, and there is no scholarship included.
Anyone who meets admission requirements can apply for admission at Rhythmic Music Conservatory. There is no age limit for applicants, and you may apply an unlimited number of times.
If you previously have finished a higher education, you can still apply.
All applicants must pay an application fee of 500 DKK for every study programme, they apply for at RMC .
The fee covers part of the conservatory's costs in connection with processing applications as well as planning and running the entrance exams, and cannot be refunded after the application deadline has expired.
If you apply for a Masters programme immediately after having completed a Bachelor programme at RMC, special rules apply, and RMC will refund the application fee after the application deadline.
If you are applying for both special subject areas of the Bachelor programme in Composition, you must submit two applications and pay the application fee twice due to technical reasons.
RMC will refund one application fee after the application deadline.
You pay by card via an online payment solution at The Ministry of Culture's admissions portal, when you have finished your application.
RMC will not cover any fees associated with the payment.
Applications and entrance to the study programmes are not coordinated with similar study programmes at other Danish academies. This means that applicants are not automaticaly forwarded to other music academies, if not offered a place at RMC. If you wish to apply for other academies than RMC, you must apply directly to them. You can find information about where and how on the individual academies' own websites.
You can apply for several programmes at RMC at the same time. In order to do so, you must create as many applications on the admissions portal, and pay the application fee of 500 DKK for each application.
Applications are accepted in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and English.
Entrance examinations are held in Danish. If the applicant does not speak or understand Danish, the examination can be held in English.

- There is no public access to entrance examinations. Only the applicant, the band (if applicable) and the assessors can be present during the examination.
- Only the assessors can be present during the following deliberation.
- Audio and/or image recordings during an entrance examination are not permitted unless the recordings support the conservatory's business. The recordings are then made by the conservatory.
- The applicant is responsible for ensuring the presence of any desired accompanists and other participants at the entrance examination.

It is not possible to do your entrance examination via Skype, Zoom, Teams or any other streaming solution.

Illness must be documented by medical certificate if you wish to have the opportunity to take a make-up entrance examination. RMC must receive the medical certificate no later than three workdays after the entrance examination was supposed to take place. RMC will determine the date of any make-up entrance examination, and you will be notified of this as soon as possible. It will not be possible to take the make-up examination at other times than those announced by RMC. You are responsible for paying the cost of the medical certificate.
A limited number of applicants who are qualified for admission, but who have not been admitted due to the limited number of places available, may be offered a place on a waiting list. In the period up to 1 June, applicants on the waiting list may be offered admission.
If you are admitted to RMC, you are obliged to provide information about any previous admission to study programmes at tertiary level, and what subjects or courses you have passed. This is necessary, as RMC are obliged to assess, whether you can transfer credit for one or more elements in the study programme.

The study programmes at RMC are free for Danish students and for students from EU/EEA countries.

Students at the Music Management programme must use a modern laptop, and should expect to spend DKK 1-5.000 each semester for the purchase of professional literature.
All programmes are full-time study programmes and attendance at tuition is compulsory. Activities on the programme can be scheduled during the day, evening and weekends. Therefore, you cannot expect to be able to pursue an active career alongside your studies. On the other hand, there will be ample opportunity for you to express yourself at RMC. Also, you should only have a limited amount of work alongside your studies.
In November, RMC holds an information meeting about the various Bachelor programmes and the APD programme. The meeting takes place online and is open to anyone interested. The exact date of the meeting will be announced on this website at the end of September.
