Masters application 2022

The Masters programmes at Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) in Copenhagen are now open for application - deadline is 21 February.

A Masters from RMC is a two year degree that builds on your Bachelor degree with further specialized studies in a field of your choosing, whether it is as a performing artist, a composer or an educator.

RMC in Copenhagen offers five Masters with an international scope:

Music Creation

Music Education

Music Performance

European Jazz Master (specialisation option within Music Performance)

Nordic Master: The Composing Musician (specialisation option within Music Performance)

Who is RMC?

Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) is an educational institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture and works on a non-commercial basis. RMC was founded in 1986 as the first music academy in Europe to specialize in contemporary rhythmic music.

RMC offers the highest education in contemporary rhythmic music - a multifaceted concept that embraces widely diverse genres such as rock, pop, jazz, urban, metal and electronic music.

Contemporary rhythmic music is a creative and performative art form which in a continuous dialogue with the contemporary world is deeply rooted in academic, professional and cultural traditions.

At RMC contemporary rhythmic music means openness, curiosity, diversity and a critical position.

The School

RMC is a Danish institution for higher education in music. RMC is an educational institution under the Danish Ministry of Culture and works on a non-commercial basis.

Our alumni are widely acclaimed artists and business professionals in the music industry. With only 200 student places in total we admit only the very talented. Once accepted students will have full access to state-of-the-art facilities and a faculty of teachers who are all experienced and active professionals in their field.

Curriculum concepts

We aim to educate music professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the increasing demands of the contemporary music industry. Our curriculum provides the students with ample opportunity to hone their skills in composing, performing, producing and communicating music within their individual field of interest.

The school offers a modern take on education allowing you to shape your studies according to your wishes and incorporating studies at other educational institutions in Denmark or abroad, internships or the like. More than that, the school offers a lively study environment and state of the art study facilities.

RMC has a close-knit cooperation with national and international music industry partners, venues, festivals, music academies and art schools.
