The musician as teacher – the teacher as musician

Based on many years of experience as musician, music teacher and supervisor to educational students I have become increasingly interested in the relations between the teaching artists' musical skills and the didactical methods that the he/she applies.
Looking at musicians' teaching practice through the lens of 'Ønskekvistmodellen' [The Wish Bone Model], originally developed by Langsted, Hannah and Rørdam-Larsen (2003) to evaluate artistic quality, enables us to discover aspects of coherence between artistic and didactic skills and knowledge within educational practice.
