Principal Henrik Sveidahl's term extended until 2029
With a three-year extension of the principal's fixed-term appointment, which now runs until the summer of 2029, the board of Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) is continuing its collaboration with Henrik Sveidahl.
Leader of the Board Signe Lopdrup says:
"Under Henrik Sveidahl's visionary and passionate leadership, RMC has become a pioneer among educational institutions for rhythmic music as contemporary art on the international scene. The board's vision for RMC is to create value for people and society and contribute to the development of a sustainable world of music, and with his already impressive achievements as principal, we look forward to taking the next steps together with Henrik Sveidahl."
Principal Henrik Sveidahl says:
"I am excited to continue the work of strengthening RMC's relevance and impact – in music as well as in the society around us. I am very much looking forward to unfolding RMC's further development together with all the many talented and committed people at the conservatory."
About Henrik Sveidahl
Henrik Sveidahl is a trained musician and has been principal of RMC since 2005. Prior to that, he held various positions at RMC, including head of education, vice-principal and associate professor. Before that, he taught saxophone and ear training, among other subjects. He also has a career as an active musician.
Henrik Sveidahl has held and continues to hold a number of positions of trust within both the Danish and international world of music. Among other things, he has been the chair of the Principals of the Danish Ministry of Culture (KUR) and of the Principals of the Danish Music Conservatories (MUR) on several occasions.
