Here is the new board of RMC
Rhythmic Music Conservatory (RMC) will for the first time, and like the six other artistic educational institutions under the Danish Ministry of Culture, have a board of directors to take care of the strategic management and have the overall responsibility for operations, finances and development of RMC.
The Danish Minister for Culture Jakob Engel-Schmidt has now appointed the four external members who together with three internal elected make up the new board:
- Signe Lopdrup (leader of the board), CEO of Roskilde Festival Group
- Emil de Waal, independent musician/composer/band leader
- Lene Vive Christiansen, Program and Development Manager at VEGA
- Mikkel Sørensen, Director at DTU Skylab
- Agnes Fogh Schmidt, student at RMC (elected by the students)
- Jacob Anderskov, Professor with Special Assignments at RMC (elected by the teachers)
- Claus Finderup, Programme Coordinator at RMC (elected by the technical/administrative staff)
Principal Henrik Sveidahl is happy the board is now in place:
"I am really looking forward to working with the board. It is great that such competent and committed people have chosen to spend some of their time leading and further developing the strategic goals that RMC must work towards in the coming years. A board is a completely new form of management for the conservatory, and I am convinced that it will be a really exciting and good development for RMC."
The appointment period is from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2027 - with exception of the student board member, who is elected for two years.
The Danish Ministry of Culture has received proposals for the four external members in an open call where everyone has been able to nominate relevant candidates for the board position.
