K.óla, the Icelandic electric bass player, composer, and artist will perform her eclectic array of music with a band.
This concert will exhibit her exploration of both English and Icelandic in search of how linguistic identity affects her music. Using a language with less than 400.000 speakers has its limitations in relation to an international audience. Though Iceland is a unique place with tall mountains, active volcanoes, and beautiful souls - singing in Icelandic is both a challenge and a gift, and very near to K.óla’s heart.
Drawing inspiration from friendships, art, and heartbreaks, her songs are about close connections, physical and mental distance, and the curiosity of longing. Navigating the topics with humor, softness, and sincerity, K.óla creates a magical harmonic universe warmly inviting the listener to join her on her musical journey.
