Metaphor and texture. A composition project

21. Mar 2014

By Jacob Anderskov

‘What happens to the composition process when you compose on the basis of a metaphor? And what if the metaphorical model for a composition has been set out in detail even before the first note has been written down on paper? In this project, the pianist Jacob Anderskov explores this compositional form through composition that is as far as possible based on a predetermined metaphorical framework, and thereby attempts to break away from a ‘necessary’ tonal and rhythmic progression that depends on the first sounds to be created.’

Carried out in collaboration with Ensemble Nordlys and Agnostic Revelations.
